Paauilo water usage restriction still in effect, restriction notice for other communities cancelled

The county Department of Water Supply said today it’s cancelling its emergency water restriction notice for Honokaa, Haina, Paauhau, Ahualoa, Kapulena, Kalopa, Pohakea Mauka and Kukuihaele.

In the Paauilo area, however, the emergency water restriction is still in effect because of pumping equipment failure.

DWS is currently hauling water to meet the Paauilo community’s needs.

Paauilo residents are requested to limit water usage to drinking, cooking, hygiene and safety needs only. Customers should refrain from irrigation, washing cars, and other unnecessary water uses at this time.
