“GLOBAL METAPHYSICS OF ABSTRACTION II”

Details: Honu‘ea, or hawksbill turtles, are critically endangered; only 165 nesting females have been documented since tagging began in 1991. About 90 percent of all the documented nesting activity in the state has occurred on Hawaii Island. Lauren Kurpita, director of the Hawaii Island Hawksbill Turtle Recovery Project, will talk about the differences between hawksbill and green sea turtle species, threats hawksbills encounter and conservation efforts to help protect this species.
