Albert “Alapaki” Kelii Pi Jr., 83, of Kailua-Kona died March 26 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Kalahiki, he was a retired as a heavy equipment operator for Isemoto Construction Co. and also worked for J.M. Tanaka Construction, Stewart Pacific Contracting, the former Hutchinson Sugar Plantation in Naalehu, was a licensed pyrotechnician, cook at the former Kona Inn Hotel and member of Keopu Kumiai, Mokuaikaua Congregational Church and Operating Engineers Local 3. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Mokuaikaua Congregational Church on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Luncheon and fellowship to follow.
