Born in Hilo, she was a retired food service worker for Marriott Catering Services at University of Hawaii at Hilo cafeteria, retired lunch monitor at Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary School, worked at the former Hilo Dry Goods, volunteered at Hui Okinawa Summer Camp and was a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Kamana Senior Center and Hilo High School Class of 1947 Reunion Committee.
