Meeting to discuss fissure 8 name set for Thursday

The state Board on Geographic Names will host a community meeting Thursday about naming fissure 8 and other features from last year’s Kilauea eruption.

The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Pahoa Community Center. The board has received 15 proposed names so far.
