Born in Kona, she was a retired cafeteria worker at Honaunau Elementary School coffee, papaya and macadamia nut farmer, and member of Kona Hongwangi Buddhist Temple, its Buddhist Women’s Association, Toho no Hikari, Kona Kumamoto Kenjin Kai and Akitsu-Kumi.
