Hawaii Cycling club time trial
The Hawaii Cycling Club’s new Hilo Climbing Training Time Trial will start at 8 a.m. July 13 at the Puainako extension of Saddle Road
The exact distance is to be determined, but registration is from 7:30- 7:50 a.m., followed by a prerace meeting, and participants will start 10 seconds apart.
The race replaces the Mauna Loa Training Time Trial, which has been canceled due to denied
After the event, HCC will provide food and hydration at the talk-story station.

Richardson swim sign-ups
Registration is ongoing for the Richardson Rough Water Swim, which be held at 8 a.m. July 28, with a 6:45 a.m. check-in.
Sign-up forms are available at all county Pools and the Hilo Recreation Office, located at Aunty Sally Kaleohano’s Lu`au Hale, 799 Piilani St.
The cost is $20 per swimmer until July 15 for ages 10 and up. Late registration begins July 16 and the cost is $40 (cash only). Swimmers may also register the day of the swim but must bring exact cash only. Late registrants are not guaranteed an event T-shirt.

Kona’s Huh takes second
Kailua-Kona’s Yoonjeong Huh watched her lead evaporate at the AJGA Kansas Junior, settling for a runner-up finish at Buffalo Dunes.
Huh, who has yet to enter high school, closed with a 73 to finish at 1-under 215, one stroke behind the hard-charging Tianyi Zhuang, a senior-to-be, who fired a 69.

Hilo High School is accepting head coaching applications for varsity softball coach and boys varsity tennis.
Applications can be picked up at the school’s main office or the gym office, and the deadline to apply is July 19.

Ka’u High is seeking head coaches for the following positions for the 2019-2020 school years: boys and girls judo, boys and girls swimming, and baseball.

Waiakea High is seeking head coaching applicants for girls soccer and softball, and applications are due July 1.
