Spotting his fastball and mixing in a curve, Sale-Silva earned two of the Hilo Pony 13 All-Stars’ four wins in Whittier, Calif, as they claimed the PONY West Zone baseball tournament and reached the World Series.
Sale-Silva collected three multihit games at the tourney, but his most important contributions came in a four-inning, eight-strikeout performance in the title game.
He’s resting up his right arm to face Mexico on Friday.
