Amy Kimiko Aihara, 83, of Hilo died Aug. 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was retired from Easter Seals and a member of Arise Church. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Diane “Rocky” Sherwood Holck, 71, of Captain Cook died Aug. 4 at home. Born in Kentfield, Calif., she was a commercial angler, poet and writer. Mattie Sewako Soultz, 86, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Hilo, died July 25 in Henderson. Born in Kealakekua, she was a retired registered nurse for the former Hilo Hospital, former U.S. Air Force nurse and former member of the Women’s 800 Bowling League and Hilo Nissei Bowling Club. Services in Nevada at a later date. Survived by daughter, Sandra Soultz of Henderson; son, Paul (Lorena) Soultz of Hilo; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Christopher Ryan Sugimoto, 38, of Hilo died Sept. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hayward, Calif., he was a five-year veteran of the Hawaii Police Department and 2008 graduate of San Jose State University with a bachelor’s of science in justice studies. No services.
