Margaret Alexander, 92, of Hilo died Sept. 24 at home. Born in Santa Paula, Calif., she was retired builder and operator of the Dolphin Bay Hotel, built sailboats and sailed around the world. Roger Keonoono Auna, 71, of Honokaa died Sept. 22 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Honokaa, he was a retired house attendant with the former Hapuna Beach Prince Resort and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 3-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 5 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by sisters, Joanne Nakamura of Kukuihaele, Noreen (Earl) Kunishige and Myra Kunishige of Kawaihae; brother, Elmer (Laura) Auna Jr. of New Stables; nieces, nephews and cousins. John Otto Hintze, 84, of Hilo died Sept. 17 at home. Born in Stockton, Calif., he was a cattle rancher, electrical contractor, real estate agent and U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Services held. Survived by wife, Wanda Hintze of Hilo; son, Jim (Carla) Hintze of Caldwell, Idaho; daughter, Fronda (Tony) Harris of Hilo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Louis Ka‘aukai III, 58, of Pu‘ueopaku died Sept. 24 in Hilo. He was a heavy truck driver for the state Department of Transportation Highways Division, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, member of numerous baseball and softball organizations and hunter. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire and lei welcome. Private urn committal. Survived by wife, Evelyn Cruz Ka‘aukai of Pu‘ueopaku; sons, Jeffery (Stephanie) Cruz, Jeremy Ka‘aukai and Jonah Ka‘aukai of Pu‘ueopaku; sisters, Lisa Ann P. Ka‘aukai-Cole of Virginia, Melanie K. Born in the Philippines, she was the owner of J’s Asian Market and member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Honokaa Visayan Club.
