Bring your ohana to an out-of-this-world event during Galaxy Forum Hawai‘i Kamuela: The Moon, Stars, Galaxy and Our Community from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Anna Ranch in Waimea.

The event is free and geared to inspire teachers, parents, keiki and all Earthlings!

Featured speakers will be:

• Kimo Pihana, Hawaii cultural practitioner, who will present “Hawaii Culture, the Moon and Mauna Kea.”

• Doug Simons, director of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, who will present “Observing from Mauna Kea and CHFT Public Outreach.”

• Steve Durst, International Lunar Observatory Association director, who will present “ILOA 5 Moon Missions and HQ Development in Kamuela.”

• Wendy Laros with the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, who will present “Supporting Astronomy Industry, Science, Culture and Environmental Stewardship of Mauna Kea.”

• Jacqui Hoover with the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, who will present “How Astronomy Benefits Our Community.”
