Let the fun of Halloween begin from 4-8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo.
Featuring Hawaii’s curious creatures of the night, ‘Imiloa’s Night at the Museum will be filled with activities for folks of all ages.
The event is free for ‘Imiloa members or a special price of $8 per person for non-members.
The night will include themed make-and-take crafts, planetarium shows, educational booths and a green screen photo booth.
This “edutainment” evening even includes a costume contest and a pumpkin carving contest.
Pumpkins submitted for the carving contest must feature a creature of the night native to Hawaii and be received by Thursday, Oct. 24. There will be four categories: kids from grades PreK-5, juniors from grades 6-12, adults ages 18 and older and organizations and UH departments. Specific criteria outlined for each of these categories and more details are available at https://imiloahawaii.org/pumpkin.
