Virginia Isbell, 87, of Kealakekua died Sept. 20 at her daughter’s residence on Oahu. Born in Chinook, Mont., she served as member of the House of Representatives District 5 for 16 years and represented the 7th District on the Hawaii County Council, served as secretary of the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District’s board of directors, and was a member of the Soroptimist International of Kona, the Lions Club of Kona, Girl Scouts of Hawaii, Keauhou Canoe Club, Kai O Pua Canoe Club and LDS church.
