Police say a 30-year-old Mountain View man was arrested after creating a disturbance Sunday afternoon at Hilo International Airport.
According to a Hawaii Police Department Statement, Dean Padamada was charged with two counts each of terroristic threatening and assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Police say they were called at about 3 p.m. on the report of an irate man and learned Padamada was upset after landing at the airport and discovering that luggage didn’t arrive.
Padamada began to throw pamphlets and create a disturbance, and when asked by airport staff to settle down, verbally threatened the employees, police said.
According to police, Padamada acted violently toward arriving officers and was arrested. During the arrest, an officer was knocked to the ground and sustained an injury to the knee and another officer suffered a hand injury.
Police used a Taser to subdue Padamada.
His bail was set at $5,750 pending a court appearance, police said.
