Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary on Monday kicked off 12 days of a crowdfunding campaign in conjunction with the 13th annual Howling and Meowing Holidays fundraising event slated for Dec. 1 at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Center.
The campaign features 12 $5,000 crowdfunding causes daily leading up to the event to support the organization’s mission. Teams who sign up for the dog walk can support one of the causes or come up with their own.
To register for the dog walk, visit www.rainbowfriends.org and email a team photo with your companion story to mail@rainbowfriends.org for a chance to be featured. Dog walk teams who raise the most sponsorship dollars will also win big prizes and be highlighted in the Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary newsletter.
Teams are encouraged to ask friends, family, neighbors and business associates to sponsor them and their furry companions with a financial donation. Businesses also can form teams to support one of the Christmas crowdfunding causes. For other ways to contribute to help animals, contact Rainbow Friends at 982-5110.
Howling and Meowing Holidays kicks off with a dog walk starting at 8 a.m. followed by games, a best holiday-dressed dog contest, music, photos with Santa, demonstrations, a silent auction, food, vendors and more. The goal of the event is to raise funds to help support Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary’s operations, animal food, care and community assistance programs, education, training and outreach.
Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary is a no-kill sanctuary located in Kurtistown, and is home to 70 dogs and 400 cats.
