Police are investigating the discovery of a body found Wednesday night in Orchid Isle Estates subdivision.
According to a statement, at about 7:18 p.m., Puna patrol officers responded to a Road 9 residence after a report of a missing elderly man. A short time later, officers found the man’s deceased body several hundred yards from the house.
An autopsy is scheduled for today to determine the exact cause of death.
The investigation is currently classified as a Coroner’s Inquest.
Police have not released the deceased man’s name pending notification of kin.
