Join the Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for the second annual Christmas in Kahuku from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Kahuku Unit of the national park.
This free event is open to the public and will include music all day, featuring the Shootz band playing rock’n’roll and Motown, the Queen of Opera, D’Andrea Pelletier, and a surprise guest performing Hawaiian music.
Crafters from Ka‘u and beyond also will be selling locally made items — jewelry, pottery, holiday decorations and more. Hawaii Pacific Park’s Association’s book store will be open and providing many unique park-associated books and items.
Food provided by Volcano House will be available for purchase, and the Friend’s will sell shave ice, drinks, chips and logo merchandise, with proceeds supporting park projects and educational programs.
Crafters can apply for this event by visiting www.fhvnp.org, emailing admin@fhvnp.org or calling 985-7373.
Booth fee is $20.
The Kahuku Unit is located off Highway 11 at mile marker 70.5.
