Three babies were born during the Christmas holiday at Hilo Medical Center, all coming into the world before their due dates.
Amber and Troy Fujimoto welcomed Isabel at 7:08 a.m. Christmas morning.
Isabel measured 19 inches and weighed 5 pounds, 8 ounces.
Helena Brewer and Shannon Nihipali welcomed baby boy Haven Nihipali-Brewer at 4:58 p.m. Dec. 25.
Haven measured 19 inches and weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces.
Then, 14 minutes after midnight on Dec. 26, Megan Dait and Josh Fiesta welcomed Zysten Fiesta, who arrived well before his Feb. 13 due date.
Baby Zysten weighed 4 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 17 inches.
Zysten was flown to Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu with his dad for further monitoring.
Mom reported her second son was doing well and the family was reunited shortly after Dait was discharged from HMC.
The first three babies born on Christmas were showered with gifts from the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Keaau. In addition to a diaper bag and a hand-sewn tote stuffed with baby care items, the gifts also included at $100 gift card.
The families were appreciative and thankful for the Eagles’ generosity.
