Joel Arruda, 68, of Hilo died Dec. 20 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a sugar mill worker. Private services. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by brother, Clayton Arruda of Hawaii; sisters Mabel Jernstrom and Miriam Quiret of Hawaii, Carolyn Cabreira of Washington and Elaine Cheer of Oklahoma. Arnold Edward “Caz” Cazimero, 77, of Kohala died Oct. 13 at Bay Medical Sacred Heart in Panama City, Fla. Born in Kohala, he was a retired U.S. Army first sergeant and Kohala High School alum. Celebration of life services 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 4) at Kahilu Town Hall, 67-1182 Lindsey Rd., Waimea. Casual attire; lei and flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Barbara Cazimero of Panama City, Fla.; stepdaughter, Shannon (Erin) Pigneri of Panama City, Fla.; mother of his children, Olinda P. Cazimero of Waimea; sons, Arnold E. Conchita Dela Cruz, 76, of Hilo died Dec. 8 at home. Born in Hawaii, she was employed by the former Mun Cheong Lau restaurant and was a licensed child care provider. Mr. Isaia “Anakala” Ikaya Kealoha, 87, of Hilo died Dec. 10 at home. Born in Mokuhulu, Kaimu, Kalapana, he was a retired electrician for Maunakea Electric, Holms and Navar electrician on Kwajalein, Johnston, and numerous atolls, U.S. Army Korean War veteran, lecturer at University Of Hawaii at Hilo, Aha Punana-Leo, Kamehameha Schools, and Nawahiokalaniopuu, kupuna, Hawaiian medicine practitioner and farmer and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and Nohea Street Kumiai. Visitation 5-9 p.m. Monday (Jan. 6) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
