Remaining Bade defendants plead guilty

All four former employees of a Hilo physician raided by authorities in October 2018 for overprescription and illegal distribution of opioid prescription painkillers and other narcotics have pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in the case.

Estipania “Fannie” Dulan Alejandro, 96, of Halaula, Kohala, died Oct. 14 at home. Born in Kohala, she was a retired housekeeper for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, worked for Kohala After-School plus Program and was a member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Private services held. Survived by daughters, Loretta (Ronald) Crivello and Lydia (Steven) Santiago of Hilo, Leticia Rivera of California; sons, Alvin Alejandro of Kohala, Andrew Alejandro of Oahu and Alfred Alejandro of California; brothers, Henry Dulan of Kohala and Paul (Joann) Dulan of Kona; sister, Lourdes Manuel of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Stolen park fence recovered

The county’s Department of Parks and Recreation caught a break after discovering Monday thieves had stolen the top rail and more than 100 feet of chain-link fence from the baseball field at Hawaiian Beaches Park in Pahoa.
