Kamehameha’s Kastle Lyman didn’t just set up the penalty kick, she converted, too.
Lyman drew a foul in the box during Tuesday’s first half in Honokaa, and she scored what would be the only goal of the match as Warriors beat Honokaa 1-0 in a likely BIIF Division II girls soccer semifinal preview.
While Kamehameha improved to 4-2-3, Kaylia Galindo’s shutout dropped the Dragons to 2-6.
Waiakea 12, Christian Liberty 0: Riley Tamanaha scored twice to pace 11 different goal-scorers for the host Warriors (6-1-1).
Alon Halsted, Jaden Jimbo, Kai Biegler, John Grover, Kyson Yamashiro, Chase Kotomori, Logan Talisay, Sylis Conley-Ruth, Kala’e Woods and Tevin Atwal also found the back of the net, and Jeremy Spain was credited with the shutout of the Canefire (1-3).

Kohala 0, Honokaa 0: Cowboys goalkeeper Kamani Provencal made an “amazing save” at the end of regulation to preserve a draw on the Dragons’ field.
“(Kamani) had an outstanding game,” Honokaa coach Maurice Miranda said. “Stopped numerous shots. We played well but could not find the back of the net.”
Tyler Yamada secured the shutout for the Dragons (2-4-1), who are in a battle with Kohala (3-3-1) and Konawaena (2-5) for the fourth playoff spot in D-II.
The tie could be the advantage Honokaa needs, since it previously beat the Wildcats, who own a win against the Cowboys.
