According to a written Hawaii Fire Department statement, nine units responded to the 5:04 p.m. alarm. The first unit arrived 21 minutes later to find the house fully engulfed in flames.
There was an energized power line across the driveway and Hawaiian Electric had to be called before firefighters could safely enter the property.
The fire was reported under control at 5:38 p.m. and extinguished at 5:41 p.m.
No one was home and the statement contained no estimate on the monetary amount of property loss.
