The United States had 159,184 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 11:30 a.m. HST.
The U.S. continues to lead the world in the number of cases, followed by Italy (101,739), Spain (85,195), China (82,198) and Germany (66,125), according to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.
The number of cases worldwide passed 775,000 this morning.
In the U.S., 2,945 people have died after contracting the virus. Globally, the death toll was 37,083, and 178 nations and territories have reported outbreaks.
On March 1, there were 98 confirmed cases in the U.S. On March 15, there were about 4,600 cases, and a week ago there were just under 54,000 cases.
In Hawaii (as of Sunday), there were 175 confirmed cases, 24 of which were new, according to the state Department of Health. There have been 12 cases on the Big Island.
More than 164,000 people worldwide have recovered from the virus.
