The state health director told lawmakers this morning only five new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus were reported in the past day, bringing Hawaii’s total cases at 504.
State Health Director Bruce Anderson reported the unusually low count to the House Select Committee on COVID-19 Economic and Financial Preparedness this morning.
Linda Chu Takayama, Gov. David Ige’s chief of staff, told the Senate Special Committee on COVID-19 today that total is out of more than 19,000 tests statewide.
Takayama also said supplies of tests are “running low” and are being conserved for use on “those who are most likely to be confirmed as positive tests.”
