The state director of Labor and Industrial Relations told the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday that the Unemployment Insurance Division hopes this week to roll out federal jobless benefits for the self-employed and independent contractors who lost income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
