DOH reports 24 new cases of COVID-19 today; one new case on Big Island

The state Department of Health reports 23 new cases of COVID-19 statewide as of noon today, the day after the pandemic’s peak daily reported number of 41 new cases.

The statewide total of cases is now 1,094.

Of those new cases, 20 are in the City and County of Honolulu, bringing the Oahu total of cases to 808.

There are no new cases in Kauai County, where the total number of cases remains at 42.

The Big Island has one new reported cases and has a total of 96 cases, with nine of those cases active.

Maui County reported two new cases, and now has a total of 130 cases.

Eighteen cases, overall, have been of Hawaii residents diagnosed while out of state.

So far, 119 of Hawaii’s cases have required hospitalization, and there have been 19 deaths.

A total of 811 individuals have been released from isolation as recovered. according to DOH.
