DOH reports 20 new COVID-19 cases, 2 on Big Island

The state Department of Health reports 20 new cases of COVID-19 statewide as of noon Saturday.

That brings the statewide total of cases to 1,354.

Of the new cases, 15 are on Oahu, two on the Big Island and three are pending release of geographical origin.

The total case number in the City and County of Honolulu has 1,040 cases.

Maui County has the second-highest case total, with 135 cases.

Hawaii County now has 111 reported cases, while Kauai County’s case total remains at 43.

Hawaii County Civil Defense reported today the Big Island has 12 active cases, with one requiring hospitalization.

Twenty-two cases, overall, have been of Hawaii residents diagnosed while out of state.

So far, 140 of Hawaii’s cases have required hospitalization, and there have been 24 deaths statewide.

A total of 1,019 individuals have been released from isolation as recovered, according to DOH.
