Brandon “Cujo” Kelly Cullio, 48, of Mountain View died June 23 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he owned Ohana Fencing. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by companion, Lia Enaena of Mountain View; son, Keawe-Sam Cullio of Mountain View; daughters, Shaberlei Oku of Las Vegas and Kairell-Lee Cullio of Mountain View; mother, Barbara Cullio of Keaau; brother, Conrad (Roz) Cullio of Keaau; sister, Renee Wilson of Volcano; a grandson; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Denise Pilialoha Ferreira, 60, of Hilo died June 4 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired bartender and caregiver, mother, friend, life of the party and real “Hawaiian tita.” Private services held. Barbara Jean Jackson, 77, of Keaau died July 7 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker. Private services. Survived by companion, James W. Leslie “Kanak” Kahuwila Ioane Kanakaole, 83, of Hilo died July 19 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired design draftsman for the former Hawaii Electric Light Co. and player-coach of Hilo Fil-American fast-pitch softball team. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Seating limited; masks and social distancing required.
