Donnie Jean Kamalani (Stremski) Borero, 57, of Keaau died July 14 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired Hilo Safeway cashier and St. Joseph High School alumna. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Seating limited; face masks and social distancing required. No refreshments. Janice (Miulana) Nahiileinaniokuku (Thomas) Kekauoha, 83, of Hilo died Aug. 2 at home. Born in Waipio Valley, she was a retired Department of Education librarian at Lanakila Study Center, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kilauea and Keauhaka wards, alumna of the former Church College (now Brigham Young University-Hawaii), Honokaa High School class of 1956 alumna, worked in the church Family History Center and did temple work, taught ti-leaf lei making, danced hula and was an athlete. Services and celebration of life at a later date.Survived by daughter, Beatrice (Fono) Masoe of Hilo; son, Eldon (Amie) Kekauoha of California; daughter-in-law, Carol Kekauoha of Hilo; sister, Nellie Angelo of Kukuihaele; brother, Jacob Thomas of Honokaa; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
