David Ige ordered that the U.S. flag and the Hawaii state flag be flown at half-staff today at the state Capitol and at all state offices and agencies as well as Hawaii National Guard installations to honor the almost 3,000 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

President Donald Trump is calling upon U.S. citizens to participate in community service in honor of those lost, and to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:36 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time to honor the victims who perished 19 years ago.
