Two more COVID-19 deaths were reported today among residents of the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home by Hawaii County Civil Defense.
That brings the number of coronavirus-related deaths reported by Hilo Medical Center to 13, Civil Defense said in its morning message today.
Those deaths have not yet been added to the state total, which is still listed at 99 deaths.
The state Department of Health reported 80 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the statewide total number of cases to 10,779.
Of the new cases, 69 were in the City and County of Honolulu, bringing its case total to 9,723. Hawaii County reported seven new cases with its total number now at 594.
There were three new cases reported in Maui County, with its case total now at 378.
Kauai County’s case total remains at 58, with no new cases reported today.
Hawaii residents reported infected while out of state number 26.
Of the state’s cases, 636 have required hospitalization and 3,565 have been released from isolation as “recovered.”
There are two Big Island coronavirus testing clinics scheduled for Tuesday. One is at Keaau High School between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The other is at Kamehameha Park in North Kohala between 10: a.m. and 2 p.m.
