Hawaii County Civil Defense said that the number of new, active COVID-19 cases on Hawaii Island, reported and monitored by the Department of Health is 19. At this date 10 individuals are hospitalized on the Big Island and a total of 48 deaths have been reported on the Island.

Hawaii Island has seen an increase of positive cases in recent weeks. Most of these recent cases aren’t travel related, which means the virus is being transmitted within the community.
