The Aloha Exchange Club of East Hawaii with the help of HELCO’s cranes will display their patriotism as proud Americans on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, by displaying a huge 38-by-20-foot American flag over Kamehameha Avenue from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Club members, led by president Dale Tokuuke, will also wave flags at passing motorists. “We are celebrating Veterans Day in gratitude for those who serve and in sorrow for those who have lost their lives for us to enjoy American freedom,” said Tokuuke. The Aloha Exchange Club, chartered in 1982, promotes unity for service through Americanism, youth projects, prevention of child abuse and their police officer and firefighter recognition awards.
