Michael “Mike” Thomas Borer, 61, of Castle Rock, Colo., and Kailua-Kona died Dec. 27 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the retired president and CEO of Xcel Pharmaceutical Inc. Private services at a later date. Yoshie Tanaka, 93, of Kealakekua died Dec. 30 at home. Born in Kainaliu, she was a housewife and member of Asahi Kumi, Daifukuji Orchid Club and Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
