A 59-year-old man drowned Thursday night while night-diving off a remote Ka‘u beach, according to a statement from the Hawaii Fire Department.
According to HFD, the man lost contact with his diving group, and his body was found later in a tide pool at Kamilo Beach. His body was pulled onto the beach prior to the fire department’s arrival.
The man was pronounced DOA, and the scene was turned over to police.
