The number of active COVID-19 cases amongst inmates at Hawaii Community Correctional Center has dropped to two, the state Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.

A total of 214 inmates have now recovered, according to data on the DPS website.

Meanwhile, one case remains active among HCCC employees and 22 have recovered.

A COVID-19 outbreak began in the Hilo jail in late May.
