Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was retired public schools vice principal and teacher, Realtor for Yamanaka Realty, member of New Hope Hilo, Waiakea Lions Club, Waiakea Kyoei Kumiai, Hawaii Island Adult Care and Cielo Vista Senior Adult Care, and a veteran of the U.S. Army 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II.
