Big Island resident and Kona Aquatics swimmer Taeyanna Adams finished fourth in her heat Sunday in the women’s 100-meter breaststroke in Tokyo, failing to advance with a time of 1:25.36.

This was the first Olympics for the 19-year-old, who represents the Federated States of Micronesia.

• Hilo faces an elimination game Monday against Montana at the Little League Softball West Regional in San Bernadino, Calif.

The ages 12-and-under all-star team was no-hit Saturday in an 8-0 loss to Arizona. Madelyn Awaya was the losing pitcher for Hilo and Mahinalei Marquez-Pang coaxed a pair of walks.

Also on Hilo, which received a direct birth to the regional, are Alaula Awong, Kahiwalani Daquep, Rmi Dekoning, Jessica Garza, Kealohi Ili, Lilia Kaupu, Tiani Kaupu, Kaelyn Sewake, Palehua Silva, Meghan Spencer, Lili Thompson-Ua and Mackenzie Valentin.
