Gov. David Ige on Thursday signed an executive order that requires contractors and visitors at state facilities and on state property to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a negative test result prior to entry.
Under the executive order, all contractors entering, working or providing services in any state facility must attest to whether employees are fully, partially or not vaccinated against COVID-19.
They also must provide weekly verification that partially or unvaccinated employees have a negative test result once or twice a week.
Contract employees must also wear masks at all times and physically distance from others while in the state facilities.
Visitors to state facilities where contact with state employees is possible must also verify they are fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior.
The order does not apply to people visiting beaches, beach parks and other outdoor state properties; keiki under 12; students attending public or charter schools; inmates at state correctional facilities; patients in state hospitals; residents in state housing projects; individuals entering and traveling out of a state airport; and individuals making deliveries to a state facility who leave within 10 minutes of entry.
According to the order, state agencies that provide services such as licensing, testing, permits and transactions of any type must determine how to provide the service for members of the public who are unable to comply with the order
The order takes effect Monday.
