Julia Guerpo Cuaresma, 88, of Captain Cook died Aug. 28 at home. Born in Kukuihale, she was a cook at Kamuela Deli, macadamia nut sorter for Hawaiian Holiday and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Services at a later date. Adrein “Kalani” Haena Kalani Sr., 56, of Napoopoo died Aug. 20 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a security guard for Viking Services of Hawaii. No services. The Rev. Beverly Iwalani Mahi Samson, 67, of Hilo died Aug. 31 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was aretired sales clerk for Ross Dress for Less and a minister at Ka Uhane Hemolele O Ka Malamalama Church. Celebration of life at a later date.
