DOH reports 34 new COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County

The state Department of Health is reporting 34 new cases of COVID-19 in Hawaii County today and 487 active cases, with 12 persons hospitalized.

DOH reports the county has a 3.8% test positivity rate. The seven-day average of new cases is 28, with the number of daily new cases decreasing by 44% over the past 14 days.

Community testing is available today between 1-5 p.m. in at the Old Kona Airport Pavilion.

There will be testing 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo and Waimea District Park.

In addition both testing and vaccination will be provided Saturday at Hilo Lanes between 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Kona International Market between 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and Ocean View Community Center between 9 a.m.-noon.
