Miss Kona Coffee, Miss Aloha Hawaii crowned
Eight contestants vied for the title of Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawaii Friday at the annual Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Competition at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.
Eight contestants vied for the title of Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawaii Friday at the annual Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Competition at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.
Contestants were judged on interview, red carpet formal wear and talent during the marquee Kona Coffee Cultural Festival event, which celebrated its 50th anniversary with virtual and in-person events Thursday through Sunday.
Kyndra Nakamoto was crowned Miss Kona Coffee and Katiana Amafala-Marquard Miss Aloha Hawaii.
Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawaii are ambassadors, representing Hawaii Island’s unique culture and heritage. They are committed to public service and empowering their fellow community members.
Candidates compete for scholarships and the opportunity to participate in the statewide Miss Hawaii and national Miss America competitions.
