Police seek leads on ‘dangerous’ escapee

Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate a 33-year-old escapee from Hale Nani Correctional Center they say “should be considered dangerous.”

Keahi Sale escaped between 8-10 p.m. Friday. He was last seen at about 11:30 p.m. Friday on Puueo Street in Hilo wearing a white sweatshirt and tan shorts.

Sale is described as local, 5-foot-7 inches tall, 155 pounds with a tan complexion, black hair and brown eyes.

He was convicted of what police said are “multiple violent felonies” and should not be approached.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
