Serene Kaleoaloha Chiquita Akina, 47, of Waimea died Nov. 1 in Los Angeles. Born in Hilo and raised in Mountain View, she was a member service representative at HFS Federal Credit Union Waimea branch. Celebration of life starting with 9 a.m. viewing on Saturday, Dec. 18, at Cherry Blossom Park/Church Row in Waimea. Face masks and social distancing required; sanitation stations will be available. Drive-thru encouraged. Private burial at later date. Edwin Nostares Ceredon, 68, of Keaau died Nov. 3 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a macadamia nut harvester for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and a member of the Iglesia Ni Christo Church in Keaau. Augustina James, 13, of Ocean View died Nov. 18 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, she was a student at Waikoloa Elementary School and a member of Kona Assembly of God Church. Born in Hilo, she was a retired Kaumana Elementary School teacher, also taught at Paauilo Elementary and Intermediate School, floral designer for the former A Floral Boutique and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission, HSTA-Retired and Alpha Delta Kappa international honorary organization for women educators.
