All those who have lost power after the “Kona low” weather system earlier this week should have power restored by noon Saturday, according to a statement Thursday from Hawaiian Electric.
According to the utility, 900 Big Island customers still were without power as of noon Thursday, primarily around Puna and West Hawaii.
However, the majority of those outages were expected to be restored by the end of Thursday, with most of the remainder to be resolved by the end of today.
Full restoration — with the exception of those customers who need to repair storm-damaged property before crews can restore power — is expected by midday Saturday.
The weather system knocked out power for about 3,000 customers across the state.
On the Big Island, more than 2,200 customers have since had power restored.
Maui and Oahu also suffered power outages, but most of them have already been restored.
