“We’re going to have to do the same thing,” BIIF executive director Lyle Crozier said.
On Dec. 30, Hawaii set a coronavirus infections record with 3,484 cases.
On Monday, the Department of Health reported 3,044 coronavirus cases, and Tuesday the DOH reported 1,592 new infections, bringing the state’s total since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 to 123,456 cases.
The statewide COVID-19 death toll remains 1,094 and includes 154 on the Big Island, where there are 469 hospitalizations.
BIIF boys and girls basketball, and boys and girl soccer have already started. BIIF canoe paddling, wrestling and swimming start on Saturday.
