Lorraine “Sayo” Chung, 81, of Hilo died Dec. 17 at Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hakalau, she was a retired cashier for Sure Save Supermarkets and member of Hilo Seventh Day Adventist Church. Ricarte Guzman Dela Rosa, 96, of Keaau died Jan. 20 at home. Born in Ewa, Oahu, he was a cane seed cutter for the former Puna Sugar Co. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 3) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Mabel Takae Hoshide, 93, of Hilo died Jan. 11 at home. Born in Honuapo, Ka‘u, she was a retired Ka‘u High and Pahala Elementary School teacher and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan and Buddhist Women’s Association (Fujinkai), National Education Association-Retired, Hawaii State Teachers Association-Retired, and Hawaii Island Teachers Association-Retired, attended Hawaii Island Adult Care and loved friends, family and animals.
