Timothy Alan Begas, 65, of Ookala died Jan. 11. He worked for the Hamakua Sugar Plantation for 20 years and as a landscaper at the Four Seasons in Hualalai. Graveside services to be held 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Honokaa, with a celebration of life to follow at Laupahoehoe Point Park. Outdoor COVID precautions will be observed. Iris Ayame Namaye, 91, of Hilo died Jan. 23 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice. Born in Hilo, she was a retired secretary at the Hickam Air Force Base on Oahu, member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Project Dana and an avid golfer. Visitation to be held 10-11 a.m. Feb. 8 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, private services to follow. Inurnment at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on Oahu to be held at a later date. Jesse Samuel Aste, 51, of Pahoa died Oct. 13, 2021, at Castle Medical Center. A Big Island resident for most of his life, he attended Pahoa High School and was an excellent surfer.
