Carol Charlene Ching, 73, of Hawi died Jan. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kohala, she worked for more than five decades at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel as a waitress, food and beverage cashier and room service order taker/expediter, and was a member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church, serving as a religious education teacher and floral assistant for the church. Drive-thru visitation 8:45-9:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 19) at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church Saint Damien Hall. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. with entrance by ticket only. Urn burial to follow in Hawi Catholic Cemetery. Face masks and social distancing required. Survived by brother, Richard K.
