The county Department of Parks and Recreation on Thursday will host a meeting about the Hilo Skate Park.
The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
Skate park design and construction firm Grindline and Bow Engineering will attend the meeting to present the design concept for the Hilo Skate Park.
Meeting attendees will be asked for input about the finalized design and will be able to bring up questions and concerns.
Skaters will then have two weeks to submit input on the final design.
After that time, Parks and Recreation will meet with the Hilo Skatepark Coalition to discuss the park’s environmental assessment, as well as the future responsibilities for the construction of the skate park.
County officials and representatives from Grindline and Bow Engineering will be available throughout the two-hour meeting.
